Bio

When I was a new teacher, I was assigned to teach high school students who were on a 2nd grade reading level.  So, I did some research and got trained to teach reading using the Orton-Gillingham program that included multi-sensory techniques.  After working for an hour every day for 2 years, we were able to get the students up to a 7th grade reading level! It was life-changing for them and me.  I’ve been teaching reading ever since to all ages.  I get so much joy out of watching students improve in their reading. When I’m not teaching, I like to travel with my husband and two daughters, play the piano, ride my mountain bike and read.
