Stephen Hoel is the proud principal here at Blue Mountain Elementary. He grew up in this area and went to elementary and middle school in Mead, CO and high school just across town at Skyline High School. After completing college at the University of Northern Colorado, Mr. Hoel got his first job teaching in St. Vrain and has been with the St. Vrain Valley School District in various roles for the last 30 years! He and his wife, Christi, are mostly empty-nesters living in Frederick, CO where they raised their son, Camden (26), and daughter, Chandler (22). Mr. Hoel is a huge CU Buffs fan and spends most of the fall and winter following their various sports teams while filling the spring and summer with as much camping and fishing as he can squeeze in. He absolutely loves this work and the opportunity it provides to be a part of students and families reaching their dreams.
