Kelly Dodds

I was born and raised in Boulder, and teaching runs in my blood, as both of my parents were teachers in Boulder for 30 years. I have been teaching for 13 years, with 11 of those years in 3rd grade and 2 years in 4th grade. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Psychology, and I earned a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. I helped open Blue Mountain Elementary 7 years ago, and I can't imagine working anywhere else. I love the community here, and I love the focus of science, technology, and inquiry. It is very exciting to be able to teach kids using the design thinking process. Blue Mountain feels like home to me! In my spare time, I like to travel, cook, bike ride, and hike. My husband, Jason, and my dog, Ruby, and I also like to spend as much time as possible at our family cabin in Gold Hill, Colorado.
